Job Summary:
The Department of Psychology & Education in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University welcomes applicants for a one-year, 9-month visiting assistant professor position in education.
We seek a talented individual who is passionate about teaching, invested in student success, and eager to develop pre-service teachers in an undergraduate Education program. If you desire to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate students, we invite you to apply for a one-year visiting assistant professor position to begin August 18, 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
A master’s degree in Education or a related discipline is required along with at least three years of teaching experience in grades PK-12. Candidates who hold a doctorate or are ABD are encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience in accreditation or educational psychology are also encouraged to apply.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will teach Education courses, observe student teachers, and evaluate pre-service teacher candidates. Ohio Northern University faculty teach 23-25 credit hours per year. Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate students, recruitment events and collaborating with faculty colleagues in administrative responsibilities to support licensure and accreditation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of current pedagogical theories and strategies, the ability to build relationships with students and colleagues, and a genuine desire to prepare students for successful teaching careers.
