Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Maintain competencies required to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of a CT Technologist I position.
- Provide high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient care and imaging support services in inpatient, outpatient, urgent care, physician practice, and outreach clinic settings.
- Prepare patients for CT procedures and correlate patient clinical history with physician-ordered examinations.
- Operate specialized CT imaging equipment and related technologies to perform diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical imaging procedures.
- Conduct post-procedure image reviews independently to ensure technical quality, completeness, and compliance with departmental and accreditation standards.
- Transfer imaging studies and patient data to archival systems and prepare examinations for physician interpretation.
- Enter accurate technical findings and procedure documentation into applicable systems.
- Perform operator-level quality control testing, cleaning, high-level disinfection, and routine equipment maintenance according to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support positive clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and sensitivity to patients' physical and emotional needs.
- Exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality in all patient and organizational matters.
- Respond appropriately and remain calm during emergent or high-stress situations.
Education & Quality Improvement
- Participate in continuing education, research, and professional development activities to maintain competency and support advancements in imaging care.
- Mentor and provide instruction to less experienced technologists and team members.
- Prepare and deliver in-service education related to assigned imaging specialties or procedures.
- Assist with departmental quality assurance, compliance, and performance improvement initiatives as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- Knowledge of CT imaging principles, radiologic technology, patient positioning, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and medical ethics.
- Ability to independently perform, analyze, annotate, and post-process CT imaging studies with limited supervision.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation while working with patient names, numbers, and codes.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated professionalism, initiative, dependability, and commitment to patient-centered care.
Preferred Experience
- One (1) year of full-time experience as a certified or registered CT or radiologic technologist preferred.
Education Requirements
Required Education
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty
OR - Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty.
Preferred Education
- Associate's degree or higher.
Certifications & Licensure
Required
- Current CT credentials required by the hiring department at the time of hire or advancement.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
