Company Overview
Goodman Research Group, Inc. (GRG) is a research company that specializes in evaluating programs, materials, and services. We have a wide range of clients: broadcast media (from television networks to production companies); formal education institutions (from schools to universities); museums and other informal education institutions; independent organizations; foundations; research and development companies; and government agencies. Our expertise extends to all areas of evaluation research, including feasibility studies and needs assessments, formative research, process evaluation, outcome evaluation, and summative evaluation, as well as related services such as consultation and workshops.
Since our inception in 1989, we have formulated and carried out evaluation studies for a prestigious group of clients around the U.S. We have made recommendations that have maximized the benefits of educational programs and materials, in addition to enhancing and refining works in progress.
Our company continues to evolve and grow. In fall of 2004, GRG expanded to the west coast, opening an office in Los Angeles, CA. In spring of 2005, GRG moved its main office to a larger space in Cambridge, MA, just outside of Harvard Square.
Company History
Our company is headed by founder and president, Irene F. Goodman, Ed.D. Under her strong and creative leadership, GRG has earned a reputation for its rigorous, high-quality work and impeccable client service. Dr. Goodman brings to clients over 30 years of experience in research, teaching, and consulting. Prior to founding the company in 1989, she had an extensive research consulting practice and worked for other research institutes in the Boston area.
Dr. Goodman started the company providing a variety of research, training, and product development services. Her involvement in these activities provided a solid foundation for GRG’s transformation into a full-scale research evaluation corporation in the mid-1990s. Her first two staff members in the early ’90s were Kimberly Rylander and Colleen Manning, who started out as research assistants. Over the past dozen years, they have taken on increasingly senior roles and responsibilities. While the company has continued to grow in size and scope, GRG remains a workplace that reflects a strong commitment to community and collaboration, both among staff members and with clients.
GRG’s main office is in Cambridge, MA. Our second office, in Los Angeles, CA, opened in 2004, is headed up by Elizabeth Bachrach, Ph.D. Previous to that, Dr. Bachrach served as a senior research associate for five years in the Cambridge office.
