The Professional Services Division of the Commission on Teacher Credentialing is responsible for:
-The development of California's educator preparation standards for all credential areas
-Ensuring quality of preparation programs through accreditation activities
-The development and administration of California's system of educator examinations
-Administration of California's state funded educator development programs
Company History
Created in 1970, the Commission on Teacher Credentialing is California’s primary policy making body for the education profession. The Commission’s purpose is to improve teaching and student learning in California’s K-12 public schools. The Commission sets standards and awards professional credentials to those who meet its standards, the majority of whom are prepared in California universities and colleges. During the past decade, the Commission has developed and implemented program accreditation standards for the preparation of professional educators in all credential areas.
