Description
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Purdue University seeks a
clinical assistant professor of learning design and technology with a
specialization in K-12 technology integration. The successful candidate will
play a key role in supporting the goals of the program as well as supporting the
continued development and deployment of its Blended and Online Teaching
licensure program and technology badges. This position will be an academic year clinical faculty position, with reappointments in two-year contractual
terms. Clinical appointments are non-tenure track but with potential for
promotion in rank. This position will require an on-campus office and a
residence in the West Lafayette, Indiana area.
Responsibilities will include:
• Teaching undergraduate teacher preparation courses in technology
integration.
• Advising and consulting with other faculty members within the teacher
preparation program on the use and integration of technology within
their courses.
• Designing, developing, and updating digital technology badges/microcredentials.
• Coordinating the Blended and Online Teaching licensure program
within the College of Education.
• Leading and teaching courses in the LDT online master’s program as
well as select face-to-face PhD and MS program courses.
• Advising graduate students.
• Participating in program, department, college, and university
committees.
QUALIFICATION:
* This position requires an earned doctorate in educational technology,
instructional design, or closely related field. K-12 teaching experience with
a current or recent U.S. teaching license and strong capabilities using
technology in blended and online environments are required. Additionally,
strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated
organizational abilities and leadership skills are required. Attainment of
current Apple, Google, and/or Microsoft Educator certification is
preferred.
