- Assistant Professor/Instructor
Description
The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg Department of Education is seeking a full-time assistant professor/instructor beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. The position is appointment stream (non-tenure). Responsibilities will include teaching 12-credits (usually four courses) each semester in person on campus. Courses may include educational psychology, social foundations, early childhood courses and general education courses. Duties for these courses will include designing the courses according to Pennsylvania Department of Education teacher education competencies, assessing students appropriately, and modeling best practices for the student. The successful candidate may also be asked to supervise student teachers.
Additional university expectations of the position include advising and mentoring of students, service to campus and university, and continuing scholarly and professional development.
The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. or an Ed.D. A master's degree with teaching experience may be considered. A background in elementary education and experience teaching in early childhood classrooms and in higher education are preferred. Successful applicants will provide evidence of successful teaching experience and of a professional development plan.

PA Act 153 clearance (PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, and PA Child Abuse History Clearance) may be required prior to commencement of employment.
